About FestVolt Transformers
Premium Variable Autotransformer Manufacturing in Coimbatore
Toroidal Core & Winding Craftsmanship
At the heart of every FestVolt Autotransformer sits a premium grade toroidal core made of cold-rolled grain-oriented silicon steel. This core design provides high magnetic permeability, which drastically limits magnetizing currents and operating heat.
The core is wound with 100% High-Grade Electrolytic Copper wire. Copper possesses extremely low electrical resistance and high thermal endurance (typically Class B at 130°C or Class F at 155°C), which allows our autotransformers to support sustained peak loads without insulation breakdown.
Advanced Carbon Brush & Double Layer Insulator
The Contact Track: As a Variac turns, a carbon brush rides across the exposed track. Our copper wires are wound with precision spacing, and the brush path is silver-plated. This track treatment ensures a clean electrical bridge and reduces brush wear.
Double Layer Transformer Core: The 1.5 KVA Double Layer model features dual layers of premium insulating material wrapped around the magnetic steel core. This extra insulation layer prevents winding-to-winding or winding-to-ground faults, providing maximum dielectric isolation safety.
Swing-Arm brush: The carbon contact brush is held in place by a heavy-duty swing-arm contact. The brush tip is self-cleaning, replaceable, and maintains flat-surface contact to ensure consistent voltage output.
Safety Testing & Certification Standards
Safety is not optional in high-voltage environments. Each FestVolt unit undergoes stringent dielectric and endurance testing at our Coimbatore factory before shipment.
Dielectric Isolation
Tested for dielectric strength at 2.5 kilovolts (2.5 kV) for a full 1 minute between the active copper winding coil and the metal support frame.
Thermal Endurance
Class B (up to 130°C) or Class F (up to 155°C) materials are utilized exclusively for copper insulation wrappers and terminal structural plates.
Over-Voltage Capacity
Equipped with an over-voltage tap (Terminal E) that allows boosting output voltage up to 270V AC (approx. 115% above standard 230V lines).
